At Bauer® Tools, our mission is simple: to provide professionals and DIYers alike with the high-quality power tools and equipment they need to get the job done right, at prices they can afford.
For over 40 years, we’ve been committed to innovation, durability, and value. Our team of engineers and designers work tirelessly to create professional-grade power tools that perform as well or better than the “big names”, but without the premium price tag.
Whether you’re a carpenter, mechanic, plumber, electrician, or weekend warrior, we’ve got the drills, saws, wrenches, compressors, generators, and everything else you need to tackle projects around the house, on the job site, or in your own shop.
Our History

Bauer® Tools was founded in 1975 by a small group of tool designers and engineers who believed that quality tools should be accessible to everyone.
In those early days, we focused primarily on pneumatic tools, seeking to provide an alternative to the established brands used by professional mechanics and technicians. Our air tools combined durability, power, and reliability with affordable pricing, quickly earning a following among automotive pros.
Bolstered by our success in the automotive market, we expanded into power tools, hand tools, tool storage, and other product categories over the next four decades. We opened our first retail store in Los Angeles in 1980, providing a showroom where customers could see and touch the tools for themselves.
Today, Bauer® Tools products are sold through our nationwide network of retail stores as well as authorized online resellers. Our product lineup has grown to over 7,000 tools covering every application from HVAC to woodworking and everything in between. Through it all, we remain proudly committed to seeking out new ways to provide professional-grade tools at unprecedented values.
In-House Manufacturing
A key aspect of our business from the beginning has been direct control over manufacturing. After being disappointed with the quality and capabilities of third-party suppliers early on, we made the strategic decision to bring production in-house.
We now operate several tool manufacturing plants throughout Asia and North America. This vertical integration enables us to oversee quality at every stage of development, while keeping costs low. Our expertise also allows us to rapidly prototype and iterate on new tool designs to meet the evolving needs of users.
In addition to our own factories, we work closely with a network of thoroughly vetted partner facilities. All sources adhere to our rigorous quality standards, allowing us to provide a consistent experience across our broad catalog of products.
By managing sourcing and production ourselves rather than outsourcing to third-party brands, we’re able to offer prices 20-50% lower than comparable tools from other major brands.
In-House Testing
In order to match the performance of the leading power tool brands, our products must pass a gauntlet of extreme durability challenges. Our dedicated product testing facility in California puts prototype tools through the wringer under heavy use simulations and environmental stresses.
We operate state-of-the-art test labs to evaluate motors, mechanical components, structural components, batteries, and electrical systems. Tools are subjected to over one million compression cycles to validate long-term endurance under real-world conditions.
Drop tests, vibration tests, rain chamber corrosion tests, switch actuation life testing, and more push our tools beyond normal limits. Our cordless power tools undergo over 3,500 hard-hitting impacts before approval. Ovens replicate extreme hot and cold environments, while specially designed jigs apply thousands of pounds of force against components.
Our power tools are used to drill, saw, grind, fasten, and build hour after hour, day after day. Only the tools that survive this gauntlet earn the Bauer® name.
In-House Design

Bauer’s 40+ person product development team encompasses mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, industrial designers, and QA specialists. Based at our headquarters, this talented group works year-round to enhance our existing tool lineup and pioneer new products.
Leveraging state-of-the-art CAD software and 3D printing capabilities, our product development process rapidly iterates through countless prototypes. Our electrical engineers optimize motor winding configurations to increase power and efficiency. Our mechanical engineers utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to simulate stress distributions and predict failure points.
Ergonomic studies inform comfortable, intuitive product designs. We carefully balance size, weight, balance, and ease of control, allowing you to work longer with less fatigue.
